To participate in MSSA-run events and pathways, every player must be registered through a recognised MSSA club. You have two options:
- Join an existing MSSA-affiliated club, or
- Start a new club and affiliate it with MSSA.
1. Joining an Existing MSSA Club
If there is already an MSSA-affiliated club at your school, university, or in your area, the simplest option is to join that club.
- Identify an MSSA-affiliated club in your region.
- Contact the club and complete their player registration form.
- The club submits your details to MSSA so that you are recorded as a registered MSSA player.
Being registered through a club gives you access to MSSA championships, leagues, coaching and umpire courses, and eligibility for rankings and national team pathways.
2. Starting a New Club and Affiliating to MSSA
If there is no suitable club to join, you can create a new club and affiliate it directly to MSSA.
- Form a club: Establish the club as a non-profit structure. Use a written constitution or founding document to define your club’s purpose, office-bearers, and membership.
- Use the MSSA pro forma constitution (recommended): MSSA provides a Proforma Club Constitution which you can adapt for your club.
- Apply for affiliation: Complete the official Application for Affiliation form and submit it to MSSA with the required supporting documents such as the Letter of Undertaking for each member of the club committee.
- Register your players: Once the club is approved as an MSSA member, you can register your players using the Player Registration form or designated registration system.
After approval, your club becomes an official MSSA member and your players may participate in all MSSA-sanctioned events for which they are eligible.
